Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide technical support and project coordination to ongoing 24/7 operations within the Utilities Division. You will utilize a broad range of engineering skills for the design, installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and improvements to TNO utility systems. This role is a blend of office and field work, providing support across the division. You will interface with day staff, operators, and maintenance crews across the Utilities Division to understand and implement solutions to meet the needs of the teams that deliver safe & reliable utilities to every manufacturing department across the site.

  • Collaborate with diverse people in all layers of the organization
  • Execute projects that address needs or opportunities identified by a diverse group of individuals or teams and will typically involve the design, installation, operation, maintenance and/or ongoing improvements to plant utility systems and equipment
  • Responsible for engineering studies, equipment / instrument specification and selection, capital project support, project estimating, technical field support of systems and/or equipment, project scope documentation and definition, projects to demonstrate & maintain regulatory compliance, and coordination with other operating areas
  • Focus on improving safety, compliance, reliability, and/or efficiency of equipment or systems amongst a portfolio that will typically include a mix of MOCs, capital projects, reliability, testing & trials to support to demonstrate compliance with environmental regulations, and real-time troubleshooting

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Other degrees may be considered depending on experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience is preferred, specifically with experience in the following areas: steam and power generation, piping, pump design and operation, mechanical integrity, refrigeration and heat transfer systems, steam distribution, incineration, water and wastewater treatment, compressors, HVAC and condensate collection
  • Familiar with P&ID's, and equipment drawings and use of field notes in search of underground drawings
  • Experience with digital tools such as SIEGA, PI, SharePoint in addition to the Microsoft suite of tools
  • PE License preferred
  • Experience with utility systems, project management, maintenance, and/or construction preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive progress on multiple projects simultaneously
