School of Medicine, Office of Medical Education Job Description
Position Summary: The University of Missouri School of Medicine (MUSOM) seeks a dynamic and experienced Associate Dean for Student Affairs to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, this key role is responsible for the oversight, development, and continuous improvement of student affairs programs and activities across all four years of medical school. This leader will ensure optimal student support, success, and well-being throughout their learning experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of medical education at the MUSOM and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to advance our mission, educational programs, and the overall learning environment for students across all medical education sites. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Collaboration: * Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and the medical education leadership team to optimize student experiences and advance educational initiatives. Student Support: * Serve as the primary contact for students requiring personal, financial, and academic support. Program Management: * Supervise student recruitment and admissions process and attend admissions committee meetings as an ex-officio member. Policy Development: * Develop and enforce policies related to student affairs, ensuring timely updates to and timely distribution of the student handbook. Event Oversight: * Lead and oversee significant student events such as White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, Honors and Awards Convocation, and Graduation. Compliance and Well-Being: * Ensure student compliance with health insurance and immunization requirements. Administrative Duties: * Supervise Registrar and Financial Aid programs, including personnel supporting student affairs activities. Qualifications
