Job Summary

Coordinate support services for international student and scholar populations as an Alternate Responsible Officer and Designated School Official. Serve as an informational resource to academic stakeholders. Provide critical administrative support to the ISSS workgroup. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Faculty, staff, students. This position typically will advise and counsel: Students, staff, faculty. This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - 30%
Advise international students and scholars and issue I-2 and DS-219 immigration forms.

Job Duty 2 - 10%
Maintain the e-form request process, estimated living expenses calculator and training.

Job Duty 3 - 20%
Review and process international student and scholar e-form requests, identify eligibility based on immigration regulations, institutional policies and individual circumstances. Make decisions and authorize benefits as appropriate.

Job Duty 4 - 10%
Review and process international student and scholar requests and monitor alerts in SEVIS related to initial entry and check-in.

Job Duty 5 - 10%
Determine eligibility and take appropriate action on SSN, ITIN, travel signature requests, new student check-in review, placing and removing registration holds.

Job Duty 6 - 5%
Assist SEVIS Coordinator with database audits.

Job Duty 7 - 10%
Provide administrative support for the unit by making purchases, calendar and website updates, and backing up the OIE front desk as a shared responsibility.

Job Duty 8 - 5%
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
One year experience supporting international students or scholars with immigration and visa matters Familiarity with Banner and/or SEVIS

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
Proficiency using MS Office suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. Flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.
