JOB OVERVIEW:

As a host at Cafe la Vie you will primarily be responsible for greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant or pool deck, while maintaining a courteous and efficient operation to ensure guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Meet and greet guests as they arrive, explain restaurant concept, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu.
  • Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
  • Maintain proper set-up of dining room.
  • Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
  • Assist in the overall function and success of restaurant. Tasks may include bussing tables, running food, and taking/delivering in-room dining orders
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES



  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Positive Attitude with a team first mentality
  • Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of situation.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers or situations; includes ability to respond promptly to guest requests
  • Basic knowledge of food & beverage or a passion for learning
  • Experience with MICROS preferred
  • Experience with OpenTable preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods time and push-pull up to 25 lbs
