Description

Senior Data Engineer. Safety National Casualty Corporation. St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsible for contributing to the development, architecture, and design of Safety National Casualty Corporation's Next Generation Data Warehouse. Work with business analysts and project managers to understand the internal customer needs and develop solutions according to business requirements. Develop strategies with developers and best practices for data engineering. Perform detailed program design, flow-charting, coding, testing, and debugging. Leverage experience in Data Modeling, Data Integration, and Business Intelligence to develop and implement a Next Generation Data Warehouse. Work closely with Data Governance and Data Quality teams to ensure all development implementations meet governance needs and quality standards. Document program and technical procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of information. Appropriately handle and transit information in accordance with Safety National policies to protect the information assets of the company against unauthorized alteration and disclosure.

Requires:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical or engineering degree.
  • 5 years of experience in any Information Technology position.
  • 2 years of experience in Data Warehousing.
  • 2 years of experience with Snowflake.
  • 2 years of experience with Qlik Replicate and Qlik Compose.
  • Demonstrated ANSI SQL skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Guidewire tools, Claim Center and Policy Center, along with knowledge of the underlying database structures.
  • Demonstrated Python skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Git.
  • Demonstrated experience with Star, Data Vault, and 3NF data modeling techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database architecture and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cloud technologies and implementations of cloud capabilities.
  • Work from home available up to 2 days per week within commuting distance to office, 1832 Schuetz Road, St. Louis, MO 63146

The target base salary range for this position is $139,942.00 to $190,000.00. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
