The Collections Representative will receive between 700 - 800 requests from collectors and billers, to mail appeals, medical records, and patient letters to payers and patients. We support over 900 collectors and billers from onshore to offshore. The collector / billers send us requests via a task system and place their requested documents on a shared space. Support opens the account in the task system, reviews request, opens documents, completes HIPAA, and prints the documents to a shared printer or large volume printer. The request includes printing UB04's and 1500's on a red and white form, as well as Medi - Cal CIF, LTC, and appeal forms.

The team member prepares the document(s), completes the task via the system, and mails the documents. An electronic form of certified mail is used when applicable.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 1 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ, 85004.

We offer 4 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule during normal business hours.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Receive and review all correspondence daily
  • Follow up on assigned insurance accounts
  • Our ideal candidate is an adept communicator; deadline oriented, and self - motivated, with excellent follow - up and customer service skills

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of healthcare customer service experience
  • Experience with medical terminology (HIPAA, EOB, etc.)
  • Basic Proficiency with Windows PC applications and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at 1 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ, 85004
  • Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM from Monday - Friday



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 6+ months of Medical Collections experience
  • 6+ months of experience with Direct healthcare data collection
  • 6+ months of experience with exposure to the acquiring and / OR managing of data to support a project



The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
