University Development's purpose is to support the mission of the university by raising private resources to enhance financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities. University Development provides leadership and centralized services to all development offices throughout the University, serving as a focal point for annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; constituent programs; corporate and foundation relations; donor relations; gift planning; gift services; industry relations; marketing/communications; parents giving; principal gifts; prospect management, research and analytics; regional programs; scholarships and student aid; talent management; university events; and volunteer engagement.

Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The primary focus of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Development Directors within the Office of Foundation Relations and Industry Engagement. This individual will manage a wide range of operational responsibilities, including scheduling, coordinating meetings and travel, drafting correspondence, maintaining electronic files, reviewing and processing proposals, and facilitating communications with both internal stakeholders and the external donor community. This position requires the individual to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of all facets of University Development, including the various development offices within the Schools and Units.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse and complex environment; Understanding and awareness of program services, policies, office protocols, professional practices and applicable laws/regulations; Professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality; strong organizational skills and time management skills; Ability to prioritize work amidst multiple demands and meet deadlines; Flexible, collaborative, yet able to work effectively with a high degree of independence; Proficient in software applications including MS Teams, MS Office Suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, and Concur or similar travel management software; strong willingness to take initiative; excellent problem solving skills. Customer service and support experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in a higher education and administrative environment strongly preferred.

The ability to effectively communicate in both virtual and in-person settings
Familiarity with Blackbaud and social media platforms
Adaptability to rapidly changing technology and work environments
Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges
