Description

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to complete preventative and periodic maintenance tasks on the production equipment in the facility as assigned by the Facility Engineer and/or Production Manager.

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results



  • Demonstrate full understanding of EH&S process and requirements to complete maintenance tasks for assigned equipment.
  • Complete forklift training for safe use as needed for task assignments.
  • Ability to inspect, operate, and identify operational issues with overhead crane systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding and use of testing instruments such as voltmeter in completion of assignments.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks per content and schedule of assigned equipment.
  • Perform chemistry analysis for all production baths including Alkaline Copper, Copper, Chrome, Degrease, Pickle, Polisher, and Dechrome solutions.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks for plant waste water treatment system.
  • Develop working knowledge for plant support systems such as HVAC, cooling, exhaust and emission controls, water pre-treatment, waste-water, and air make-up.
  • Develop working knowledge for operation of plant production equipment.
  • Provide first level response to equipment breakdowns.
  • Provide support and back-up to daily production maintenance requirements when assigned.
  • Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative tasks of assigned equipment.
  • Complete housekeeping tasks as required of the assigned work area including floor scrubber.
  • Participate with OEM providers in the repair or preventative service of assigned equipment.
  • Use personal PPE as provided for safe completion of assignments.
  • Complete outside training including travel when applicable to acquire needed skillsets.



Competency Requirements

Qualified candidate must possess manufacturing knowledge. Employee must be competent in the functioning of the location's equipment and understand the inherent manufacturing dangers present in safe completion of the maintenance activities. Demonstrated competence in plant EH&S procedures for Lockout/Tagout, Mobile Equipment, Fall Protection, and Confined Space are critical. Must insure compliance with contractor pre-work procedures when contractors working on assigned tasks.

Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements

This position requires the following knowledge and skills:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals, safety rules, etc...
  • Ability to speak effectively with employees of the organization.
  • Ability to complete basic math computation and measurement conversions
  • Ability to work independently and identify equipment problems.



The following knowledge and skills are not essential but preferred:



  • 1-3 years of machining experience.
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical skills.



General Requirements:



  • Comply with Company EH&S policies and procedures through training and process understanding.
  • Provide hands on completion of work assignments.
  • Show aptitude to comprehend machine drawings and manuals for assigned equipment.
  • Work scheduled hours including 12 hour shifts as well as overtime when required.

  • Proficiency in this position is expected to be achieved in 18 to 24 months.

  • Frequent physical exertion when completing non repeating assignments.
  • Frequent operation of hand and power tools in completion of assignments.
  • Prolonged standing during 12 hour shift assignments.
  • Infrequent lifting of tooling (10-50 lbs.)
  • Infrequent transportation of 55 gal. drum for solvents and waste ink using barrel dolly.
  • Infrequent lifting of 30 gal. drums from floor to chest height to empty containers.



Job is performed on the manufacturing floor among rotating equipment, potentially hazardous chemicals and moderate noise.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay for this position is $24 hourly. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
