Position Summary Chord Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Operations Accounting Team. This role reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor and is located in downtown Houston, Texas. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare monthly close journal entries including accruals for lease operating expense, inventory adjustments, material transfers, and intercompany elimination entries
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and roll-forwards on a timely basis
  • Maintain process documentation associated with well services division and inventory management
  • Develop visualization tools to better analyze results of operations
  • Analyze results versus forecast and present variance explanations to management
  • Work closely with various groups including Accounting, Operations, and Supply Chain
  • Maintain SOX controls, policies and procedures related to specific job duties
  • Assist with external audit, internal audit, and legal requests, as needed
  • Provide guidance to other accountants within the team

  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to create and/or improve processes
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Develop a relationship and communicate effectively with various areas of the organization
  • Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mustpossess the ability to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, copier, files, telephone, and fax; maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; vision to readprinted materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

  • Upstream, midstream, or oil-field services accounting experience
  • Experience with Enertia accounting system
  • Experience with OpenInvoice or other inventory management program
