Sentara Medical Group is currently seeking a Senior Medical Assistant in Norfolk, VA!

**Hours will be flexible** Weekends and evenings are required

As aMedical Assistantwith Sentara, you will work directly with a doctor conducting phlebotomy (lab), clinical and clerical duties. This position's primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the doctor. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic) required.
  • 5 years of patient care experience
  • High School or Equivalent

Job Summary

Sign on bonus available for new FT hires!

Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated or assigned by and/or under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Perform administrative duties, as appropriate.

Medication Administration & lab draw (certification/training) is preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications:

CER - Certificate: Medical Assisting (Required), HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Certification - American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - Certification - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Patient Care
