Overview: Blue Yonder is seeking a highly skilled International Tax Director to join our dynamic team and drive our international tax strategy and compliance efforts.
Scope: The International Tax Director (ASC 740) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's international tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities. This role will require deep expertise in US international tax laws, ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes), and cross-border tax issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing complex international tax matters, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. This position will report to the VP - Tax. Location: Hybrid role in our Scottsdale, AZ office OR US-Remote What you'll do:
- International Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement international tax strategies to optimize global tax positions and minimize tax liabilities. Provide strategic tax advice on cross-border transactions, restructurings, and other international initiatives.
- ASC 740 Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including deferred tax assets and liabilities, effective tax rates, and uncertain tax positions. Manage the global tax provision process relating to international tax matters and collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance.
- Tax Reporting and Documentation: Oversee the preparation and review of US international tax compliance, international tax related disclosures in financial statements, and related international tax reports. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and supports tax positions taken.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in international tax laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations and manage any tax audits or disputes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, accounting, legal, and other internal teams to integrate tax considerations into business decisions. Provide guidance and support for international subsidiaries and business units.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship and training to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance tax processes and systems. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance.
What we're looking for:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or other relevant professional certification required; Master's degree in Taxation or Juris Doctorate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in international tax, with at least 7 years in a managerial role. Extensive experience with ASC 740 and international tax compliance.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of international tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Proficiency in ASC 740, international tax provisions, and cross-border tax planning.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to real-world scenarios.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and senior management.
- Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a team. Strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Willingness to travel as needed
------------------------------------------- The base salary range for this position is: $ 137,000.00 - $170,000.00 USD *LI-HH1 The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
