Job Summary:

The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant Director of Marketing, Branding & Digital Communications who will work with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communication in leading strategic planning, execution, and optimization of marketing initiatives across all marketing channels. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in developing and leading integrated marketing campaigns to drive student recruitment, continuing student enrollment, clinic/patient lead generation, and institutional reputation enhancement. This position requires a deep understanding of digital marketing, brand management, and strategic communications, with the ability to create data-driven campaigns and compelling content across multiple platforms. The Assistant Director will also be a strong writer and content producer with the ability to develop digital ads that have an impact. Understanding the role that content plays in digital marketing strategy is key, including creating content for SEO, social media, blogs, websites, email, video, and more. Examples of Work Performed: Marketing (35%)
- Spearhead comprehensive marketing initiatives across the College of Nursing's academic programs and clinics.
- Lead digital marketing strategy development, execution, and optimization across all channels, with a particular focus on demand and lead generation campaigns for prospective students and patients.
- Manage and optimize the digital marketing budget while leading paid marketing efforts through search, social, programmatic, and display channels.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to shape customer experience and email/SMS marketing strategies.
- Monitor, analyze, and forecast performance metrics to achieve recruitment and revenue goals, ensuring marketing initiatives deliver measurable results.
- Ensure strategies are clearly communicated and aligned with senior leadership and any third-party digital marketing vendors.
- Present at the All-College meeting and operations meetings highlighting work the Marketing/Communications unit has completed.
- Collaborate closely with leads for image and reputation marketing, student recruitment marketing, Undergraduate Admissions, Digital Strategy and Learning, program specialty directors, and clinic directors, among others, to plan, execute, and measure campaigns as part of CU Nursing's strategic efforts.
- Cultivate and work with the Marketing Advisory Committee comprised of current students and alumni - an integral component of the College's constituent research. Collaborate on email campaigns that exemplify the brand message and ensure email content/copy, email flows, and lists are optimized for performance and deployed on time. Collaborate on reporting and analytics for campaigns as well as A/B testing.
- Once leads are generated, provide input on how to enhance systems to respond and engage with and close prospects.
Branding (25%)
- Take a leadership role in brand management, and collaborate with creative, web, and marketing teams to develop and traffic brand-aligned marketing assets.
- Serve as the guardian of the College's brand, ensuring consistent voice and visual identity across all platforms while developing and tracking the effectiveness of brand communications. Create impactful marketing materials that reinforce brand positioning, such as displays, flyers, digital ads (graphics/copy), landing pages, website pages, multilingual campaigns, and optimize content for improved SERP rankings.
- Through strategic brand initiatives and stakeholder collaboration, they will work to enhance the institution's reputation and maintain brand integrity across all touchpoints.
Digital Communications (20%)
- Oversee the College's entire digital media presence, encompassing website, and social media.
- Lead strategic planning and optimization of paid digital media channels while supervising the Digital Communications Specialist and managing relationships with external digital advertising agencies to ensure advertising is generating leads for our programs and clinics, strategize and adjust spending accordingly.
- Development of comprehensive digital content strategies aligned with SEO best practices and creation of compelling content across multiple platforms. They will ensure accessibility compliance across all digital properties while implementing robust tracking and analysis of digital communications metrics.
- Employ a strategic approach to digital communications that supports both marketing objectives and brand standards.
- Manage and optimize digital marketing budget and ensure monthly targets are met or exceeded.
- Report regularly on agreed-upon KPIs such as ROIs and CPA and develop reports to easily track and monitor digital targets and digital campaign success. Present to specialty directors and admissions on a consistent basis.
- Stay current on best practices and trends in the ever-changing landscape of web design, social media management, and digital communication.
Communications (10%)
- Assist in increasing awareness of and engagement with the College of Nursing across all audiences.
- Create and write compelling stories that showcase the College's achievements, research breakthroughs, and community impact.
- Step in when the Director is unavailable, to oversee production of the CU Nursing magazine, newsletters, alumni communications, press releases, articles, speeches, brochures, and assist with media relations.
- Utilize exceptional storytelling ability and editorial judgment to effectively communicate the College's mission and achievements to diverse stakeholders while maintaining consistent messaging across all communications channels.
- Write compelling content for web, articles, flyers, marketing and communications avenues
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in content, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Staff Supervision & Development (10%)
- Provide direct supervision to the Digital Communications Specialist, and engage in a continuous cycle of performance planning, coaching, and evaluation to support the professional development of the individual in this position.
- Support Senior Director of Marketing and Communication during absences to ensure continuity of services provided by the team.
- Work collaboratively with CU Nursing Human Resources on any HR-related processes connected to supervision including training, coaching, performance evaluations, hiring processes, etc.

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of a certain number of days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, digital marketing, advertising, data science, business analytics, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Four (4) years of experience at the management level, including direct responsibility for digital marketing, demand/lead generation, and/or content marketing.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, demand/lead generation, content marketing, or a related field.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in marketing, digital marketing, advertising, data science, business analytics, or a related field.
- Social media management experience.
- Higher education or non-profit organization experience.
- Experience managing and mentoring marketing professionals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships across the organization.
- Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $76,503 to $89,508. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
