Position Description:

The University of Iowa, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Track. This will be a joint position between the Department of Internal Medicine and the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System.

This position will include a five eighths appointment at the Iowa City VA to support the endocrine inpatient consults service as well as the hospitalist service at the Iowa City VA Hospital. The remaining three eighths will be dedicated to clinical duties at the University of Iowa Health Care clinical locations. Responsibilities may vary based on the experience and interests of the successful candidates. The Division of Endocrine enjoys a strong national reputation of excellence in research, patient care, and teaching. The successful candidate will receive a salary commensurate with the individuals training and experience.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related releasee and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



Education Requirement:

Candidates must have an M.D. degree or equivalent.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must show completion of an ACGME accredited residency and endocrine fellowship program.

Certifications:

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Endocrinology.

Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment is preferred.
