ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is looking for an Associate Licensing Specialist to join our remote team based in Manassas, VA. This role requires understanding and experience with contracts, legal language, and contract management.

In this role, you'll be the go-to liaison for both internal and external customers, providing expert support on licensing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and keeping everyone informed on enforcement investigations and license-related matters. Prior experience as a Paralegal or Contracts Coordinator would be ideal for this position.

Responsibilities

    Customer Support and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers by actively monitoring and responding to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Elevate complex issues beyond routine matters to ensure effective resolution.
  • Licensing Operations: Convey licensing information to customers using database and search functions, and process related inquiries. Routinely address questions concerning the Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) and the handling of biological materials.
  • Enforcement and Compliance: Support licensing enforcement by reviewing agreements for compliance, tracking obligations, and investigating enforcement matters. Perform data entry and generate reports on agreements, assessments, and financials to support licensing activities.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years' experience or equivalent experience.
  • Equivalent experience may include paralegal, contracts or legal operations (docketing) experience.
  • Strong understanding of contracts (MTA & licensing) , legal language, and contract management practices.
  • Scientific background or experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required with high attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex matters.
  • Accountable individual and self starter required for this remote role.
  • Capability to qualify potential licensees.


Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
