GENERAL SUMMARY

Performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision. Responsibilities: Aids with movement and placement of patients.| Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.| Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.| Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment. Licensure / Certification / Registration: - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted. Education: - High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

The ideal Patient Care Technician (PCT) candidate preferred will have completion of a PCT or CNA program. CPR/BLS certification is often required, and certification in phlebotomy or EKG may also be beneficial. Previous healthcare experience, particularly in patient-facing roles, is a plus. Strong communication skills, the ability to take vital signs, assist with mobility, and use medical equipment are essential. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and the ability to work in fast-paced environments is important. The PCT will be part of a collaborative team, focused on patient-centered care and ongoing professional development. The role may involve varying shifts and weekend availability, with potential to work in different settings (hospital, clinic, long-term care).
