This position manages multiple technologies such as Cisco ISE, Wi-Fi (Controller based), Firepower, Routing (EIGRP, BGP), Switching (802.1x, Spanning-tree, HSRP, LACP), Microsoft DHCP, DNS, and SolarWinds NPM, NCM and NTA. Evaluates network and application requirements and makes hardware recommendations. Works closely with Director and Assistant Director of Data Center Infrastructure to understand and comply with network design and standards. Collaborates with other staff on projects. May be assigned to process service tickets assigned to the Data Center Infrastructure team. Provides backup to the Systems Administrator(s) and Network Engineer (s) when required. Monitors availability and utilization of routers, switches, firewalls, and Cisco ISE by using various tools, troubleshoots basic routing problems and advanced network and application issues, and evaluates network and application requirements and makes hardware recommendations. Additionally, installs and configures local area network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, peripherals, terminals, and wiring, prepares and maintains documentation of network configuration and cabling layouts, and provides technical support to application and desktop support teams and to Network and System Administrators.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four years experience in installing, and supporting data networks, Cisco firewalls, Active Directory, Cisco ISE, Microsoft and VMware networking.
  • Required to know how to configure and troubleshoot network devices and appliances such as Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, Firepower, ISE Wireless infrastructure and VPN.
  • Required to know EIGRP and BGP routing protocols as well 802.1x, Spanning-tree, HSRP, and LACP switching protocols.
  • Must know the layers of the OSI model in relation to our environment as well as IP subnetting, and network segmentation thru VLAN's and ACL's.
  • Knowledge of network and MS Windows management tools, Visio, and MS Excel.
  • CCNA certification required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently or without direct supervision.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects, frequently with conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and critical analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
