This Associate Accounting Director role is the Controller for Solutran, a division of Optum Financial in OptumHealth, which is a health care FinTech transforming how care is financed and paid for, uniquely positioned to make financial transactions simpler and more efficient. We are revolutionizing health payments by delivering end-to-end integrated financing and payment solutions embedded within the health care ecosystem. We are doing this with the most trusted, configurable, secure payment network, enabling seamless, and frictionless health payments and financial experiences.

This position is a hands-on accounting role responsible for accurate and timely financial statements of Solutran, leading a team of accountants, overseeing financial controls, managing billing, and reviewing contracts. Candidate should be a savvy leader with a focus on continuous process improvement and developing talent.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Lead a team of accountants
  • Oversee the month-end close process for their responsible area to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
  • Review & approve journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Manage end to end customer billing process, including contract review
  • Provide data to support internal and external audits
  • Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies, rules, regulation and laws
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - the ability to understand and interpret complex data easily to leadership in operations and business roles

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • CPA or public accounting experience
  • Experience in large matrix organizations
  • Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities, and achieving solutions under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Proven aptitude to complete complex projects and influence change in a complicated, fast paced, matrixed environment
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven motivated self-starter with exceptional time management skills

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
