The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm during the Academic Year.

7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months

This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be based upon the needs of the department.

This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2025 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Job Summary

Positioned within Strategy and Advancement, this position's main duties are assisting monthly cohorts of employer-partner students in and out of the classroom to develop the required knowledge, skills, and ability to succeed in college. Provides online classroom facilitation, assessment, and support for employer-partner students. Leverages assessment results to help students reflect and plan for success, making one-on-one contact at multiple points throughout the college readiness program. Assists students by serving as a primary point of contact outside the classroom for these students.

This position will support local and national workforce students and require nights and weekends to accommodate student needs.

Essential Functions

50% - Provides classroom instruction and student assessment of an orientation and business course in a college readiness program for working adults.
20% - Serves as the primary point of contact to assist with connecting students to people, processes, and procedures for resolving challenges associated with college success
10% - Works with students to determine resources and materials needed for education success and meeting course requirements
10% - Leverages student data and information to have relevant conversations about course progress and future program plans
10% - Moderates a RioConnect community specifically to develop community and consistency across readiness program, and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and five years of experience in area of assignment. Some assignments may require an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree or higher depending on field of instruction.

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.

Desired Qualifications

A. Master's in business or education
B. Two (2) years or more experience providing high-volume customer service in a professional environment through telephone, email, text, virtual meetings and/or in person.
C. Two (2) year or more experience teaching or facilitating in an online environment
D. Experience working with a culturally diverse population

Special Working Conditions

This position will be a hybrid of remote and on-campus work. Must have a space that includes a strong and reliable internet connection to work remotely and you will be expected to commute to the Rio Salado College Main campus two times per week after onboarding and for other in-person activities as needed. This position may require some nights and weekends.
