Cox Enterprises is hiring a Director, Enterprise Security, to join our team!. The Director of Enterprise Security is responsible for providing a comprehensive implementation of security related programs, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure safety and security to Cox Enterprises and its subsidiaries. This includes maintaining security controls to secure all facilities, data, personnel, and operational management for investigations, security incidents, BCP, events, and associated standards. He/she will report to and advise the Senior leadership for Enterprise Security as appropriate on any policy, standard, compliance, logistical and security control related to any investigation, risk, incident or event impacting Cox Enterprises and its subsidiaries.

Position will be responsible for leading and directing a team of managers and employees located throughout the various regions or areas that have specific security functional responsibility in the above-mentioned areas. Will be responsible for establishing and cultivating partnerships in the region and area across the functional departments within Cox Enterprises and its businesses. Coordinate with regional resources in the areas of Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Corporate Services, IT, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Enterprise Security functions to ensure appropriate plans are in place within each region to aid in investigations, security incidents, events, BCP, disaster planning and recovery to conduct normal business operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and implementation of enterprise security measures to protect company personnel, customer data and company assets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all business units, facilitating communication and follow-up with security leadership and key business stakeholders
  • Partnering with enterprise security leadership to collaborate, implement and manage strategy and policies governing security operations enterprise-wide
  • Direct and conduct complex investigations related to the protection of physical assets, fraud, theft, and misconduct in coordination with Legal, HR, Compliance, and law enforcement partners
  • Maintain awareness of legislative and procedural updates as well as law enforcement standards and evolving security regulations to meet the needs of business operations
  • Monitors security processes and outcomes, identifying trends, patterns and areas of concern; alerts management as required to ensure understanding of business, safety, IT and related implications.
  • Identifies, provides technical expertise, evaluates content and makes recommendations on incorporating all facets of security programs into the business operation
  • Develop and lead incident response efforts for emergencies to include training staff in coordination with security partners
  • Managing national law enforcement engagement and collaborating with state, local, and federal agencies are critical aspects of the role.
  • Oversight of the national law enforcement engagement program for the company to include essential interactions with state, local and federal law enforcement officials through major criminal investigations and sponsorship of national and regional law enforcement organizations
  • Responsible for business leaders' engagement and communication during security incidents, fraud, safety, and business continuity issues with key stakeholders
  • Initiate activities designed to empower operations managers and team members to lead security efforts within their respective areas of responsibility
  • Oversight responsibilities of operational and capital budgets


Job Qualifications - Experience/Education/Training:

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 10 years of experience in security management, operations, and compliance is required. However, alternative qualifications will be considered, such as a master's degree with 8 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 5 years of experience, or 14 years of experience in security management, operations, and compliance in lieu of a degree
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role managing large-scale
  • Extensive knowledge of security compliance regulations and industry standards.
  • Proven track record of managing security operations across diverse corporate functions and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, risk management, and liability assessment in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in presenting to leaders and external stakeholders.


Preferred :

  • Bachelor or Advanced Degree is optional; concentration will be on industry knowledge and expertise.


Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have senior level security management and supervisory experience in a corporate or other private sector setting. This individual will have high level communication skills, strong strategic and analytical thinking abilities, as well as business acumen. Experience working directly with and gaining the trust of top-level executives.

USD 131,600.00 - 219,400.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $131,600.00 - $219,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
