The Position

2025 Summer Intern - Immunology, Imaging & Computational Strategy

Department Summary

The Roche/Genentech Clinical Development organization is structured by therapeutic area and is responsible for developing and executing the late stage development (Phase 2-3) clinical strategies and plans to deliver medically differentiated therapies that provide meaningful improvement to patients.

The Immunology intern will gain an understanding of drug development and contribute to our Gastroenterology disease area of objectives.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, On site

The Opportunity

  • You will design clinical development substudies to support our Gastroenterology team.

  • You will complete a literature analysis on strategies to support therapeutic dose monitoring in IBD

  • You will provide support to the development of a substudy design

  • You will help design a substudy to support the use of AI colonoscopy algorithms to pre-screen patients in ongoing late stage IBD studies.

  • You will work cross-functionally to develop the design for a pilot study

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are:

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must have attained a Master's Degree.

  • Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).

Required Majors: MD, pre-Med student, focused in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biology, Chemisty and/or other relevant areas

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • You have previous research experience

  • You have worked within the IBD space

  • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • You work with integrity, courage and passion; will have the ability to complement our culture and the standards.

  • You have data analysis skills

  • Interest in Immunology, GI, or Inflammatory Bowel Disease TAs.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of STATE is $40.00-$50.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
