The team you'll be part of Network Infrastructure The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise. What you will learn and contribute to The candidate in this role will be required to work in a consultative manner directly with Customers, Project Managers, Sales Engineers, and Global Technical Support teams to deliver services which include the following responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation services for NSP deployments in bare metal and virtual/cloud environments
- Capture customer and project requirements to assist with Network Management/OSS high-level/low-level design, deployment, and test documents
- Validation of configuration or migration strategy by staging and demonstrating the procedure in labs and/or customer site
- Determine acceptance test strategy based on project requirements and features, produce Test cases and overall Test plan
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve project issues, working closely with the customer and engineering teams to resolve issues
- Develop and keep up-to-date NSP design and consultation workshop material and document templates
- Provide consultation workshops to customers to enhance their understanding and experience of the product
- Provide support to global services tendering teams in evaluating professional services requests
- Gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of customer's requirements and business needs
- Develop proof of concept artifacts promptly, while having the ability to demonstrate solutions clearly on demand
- Document established understanding of the project goals and requirements; and share the understanding between customer and other team members.
- Provide direction, and assistance, and answer questions to customers and Nokia project delivery teams
- Work closely with extended global team and product line management to stay informed about product and service roadmap/ features, and suggest strategies, initiatives, and remedies for existing or new product offerings to enhance professional service delivery and customer experience
Your skills and experience The successful candidate will have strong technical, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills as well as be energetic, results-oriented and will have knowledge and hands-on experience with some or all the following areas:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Telecom or Software Engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with customer teams, senior executives, sales, account teams, and program owners.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience with IP/Optical networking, OSS, and SDN technologies, to be able to lead technical discussions with internal and customer experts.
- Strong skills with Linux/Unix, Solaris, Red Hat, CentOS
- Strong knowledge of hypervisor technology (KVM, ESXi),
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts and platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, GCP
- Knowledge of Network Management & API concepts and protocols such as NETCONF, YANG, OpenFlow, SNMP, REST, XMPP, JMS
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking & Network Function Virtualization concepts
- Database skills would be desirable such as Oracle, SQL, Vertica
- Nokia product-specific knowledge/skills such as NSP, MDM, WFM, IB, NFM-P, Analytics
- Scripting Language: Python, JAVA, XML, Velocity
- Experience with Internet-based applications using XML, HTTP/s, SOAP, RESTful
- Knowledge of IP Networking, Routing, and Services Topology: IPv4 and IPv6, BGP, LDP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VPRN, IP VPN, QoS, Security
- Multi-vendor OSS integration experience
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
