The Regional Manager position plays a crucial role in partnering with and advocating for branch leaders to achieve their goals and serve our clients effectively." -Becky Sechler, Director of Retail Banking and Client Delivery OVERVIEW The Regional Manager will oversee the Spokane-North Idaho market by developing and implementing strategic sales and service plans for all branches within their region. This role is ultimately responsible for driving sales and ensuring effective performance through new business development, account retention, production, operations, client service, training, risk management, and project initiatives. They will devise cost management strategies and adjust staffing levels to support the bank's customer-centric and regulatory compliance culture. Additionally, they will champion the bank's initiatives through coaching, team motivation, and leadership. Achieving goals at the individual, branch, regional, and bank-wide levels. The Regional Manager will coordinate teams from different departments for acquisition or expansion opportunities as needed. They will keep clear communication with all levels of the organization and represent Retail/Consumer banking interests on projects and teams focused on business initiatives and strategic planning. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and communicate market focused strategies, aligned with corporate identified growth strategies through sales programs, brand awareness growth, employee development and community involvement.
- Collaborate with Executive leadership to ensure vision and strategy are being carried out in the short and long term, providing regularly required updates, offering recommendations based on understanding the current and future needs and growth potential within assigned and new markets.
- Review and analyze financial reports, customer, and operational data to help guide decision making and monitor branch success.
- Enhance key performance indicators such as revenue, cost ratio, and loan-to-deposit ratio. Utilize these metrics to evaluate the success of branch operations.
- Formulate sales objectives for deposits, loans, and revenue growth utilizing available data and market trends.
- Participates in special projects or duties as assigned.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
Production Growth:
- Increase market share. Provide sales strategies and direction to expand our customer base, support customer satisfaction, and attain goals through coaching, collaboration and sound decision making.
- Validate managers are effectively coaching and developing their teams by utilizing appropriate delivery channels.
- Responsible for coordinating meetings with employees and managers, providing education, updates, and an open forum for feedback, as well as check-ins regarding sales pipelines and tactics.
- Promotes participation in community organizations/events for business development and community betterment.
- Attain a targeted percentage increase in product sales across all branches within the designated region.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Ensures staff development, training, coaching, evaluations, product knowledge and goal setting of branch teams. Focus on developing talent by mentoring branch managers and cultivating their teams, while consistently coaching and leading sales and service processes for the region. Ensure branch managers receive proper training to achieve sales goals, actively recruit talent, and onboard new employees efficiently.
- Develop strong relationships and collaborate with business partners throughout the bank. Serves as an ambassador or advocate for the line of business.
- Partner with Marketing to grow internal and external brand awareness through branch engagement.
- Delivers prompt and accurate communication of Bank, division, and market strategies, goals, and objectives within span of control and business partners, as needed, fostering an open forum for dialog and feedback.
- Provide solutions to complex customer issues, inquiries, and problems.
- Regularly visit branches on an established schedule reviewing operations, branch performance and business plan status.
Branch Operations and Compliance Management:
- Proficient understanding of the full suite of products and resources to ensure branch managers are utilizing all available resources to meet and exceed their goals and market business plan.
- Determines and implements appropriate measurement tools, customer service standards and provides input on the development of market incentive plans to support sales initiatives and budget standards.
- Integrates effective Internal Controls into all applicable work processes. Maintains a working knowledge of Internal Controls with particular attention to Key Controls. Is responsible for ensuring updates to Internal Controls documentation are performed timely when there are changes in the risk parameters and/or workflow.
- Responsible for regulatory and compliance activity within assigned region, including overseeing branch audits.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure the bank's operations are secure and compliant with regulatory standards. Develop and implement risk management strategies, conduct regular audits, and provide training to staff on risk awareness and prevention.
- Enforce comprehensive risk management policies and procedures. Ensure these policies are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred; professional experience may substitute.
- 10+ years Banking experience in a leadership role required.
- Strong leadership skills in sales, coaching and decision making coupled with recognizing and rewarding employees and teams consistent with our culture. Strong organizational skills to ensure plans are implemented to meet future needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills interacting at all levels of the bank with proven ability to work across departmental/divisional lines to benefit customers/bank.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic, shows high initiative and positively supports the Bank by leading team demonstrating our policy, philosophy, and guiding principles.
- Flexible, adaptive to change with ability to prioritize workflow, diffuse and resolve issues appropriately, manage multiple tasks and effectively delegate tasks as necessary.
- Able to model and recommend activities that contribute to career or professional development.
- Educated in leadership and management via- certification or formal education preferred.
- High degree of PC based technical skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products and Retail centric systems.
Compensation: $95,167 to $142,755 The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is also eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus and incentive compensation plan.
