The Project Engineer position will work to successfully deliver project planning and technical leadership on underwater mechanical applications at Westinghouse Nuclear Power Plants. As part of the Europe, Asia and Latin America Outage Maintenance Services (OMS), the candidate will preferably have a strong field services knowledge and/or technical background (i.e. mechanical, electrical, etc.) to work on equipment and plan services. The candidate is an interface to our internal customers: Business Unit, Engineering, Quality and Sales Departments. The candidate is also an interface with the external clients (generally utility project teams) as a single point of contact during project implementation. An advanced level of spoken and written English is a must, and any additional language is a plus (Czech, Romanian, Polish, French, Italian, Spanish...). Ability to travel within Europe (10 to 20%).We will support a Pittsburgh based candidate, that can work a hybrid/mobile schedule at our Waltz Mill Service Center Madison, PA location or a US Remote candidate.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • Direct project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails.
  • Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.
  • Analyze and evaluate site implementation processes and identify areas of improvement for efficiency, training, and preparation.
  • Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures. Knowledge of SAP is preferable but not required.
  • Understanding the PMBOK Project Management Guidelines for Project Management.
  • Oversee a large, complex team of technicians, supervisors, engineers, and technical experts for implementation of large-scale projects at a customer site with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and document all quality related issues.
  • Develop, exercise and promote team-building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and customer service skills. Develop and maintain a focus on creative problem solving.
  • Practice a "Safety First" attitude as an integral part of all activities. Gain and maintain "Unescorted Access" status at nuclear power plant sites.
  • Report status of field work progress, changes, problems, and/or mistakes to the customer and Westinghouse management on a daily basis.
  • Provide leadership during preparation and on-site activities for the team at large.
  • This position requires extensive travel via airplane and/or automobile and working with or around hazardous materials.
  • This position is subject to the requirements of Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access and fitness for duty programs.
  • This position also requires the ability to carry/lift 50 pounds and must possess full range of motion.
  • Knowledge of underwater tooling techniques and processes to provide project planning, personnel training, and implementation at a client site for deep underwater work.
  • Operational Excellence:Develop and implement processes, Standard works within the organization.
  • Cross Functional collaboration:Build "the bridge" with the different department (Engineering, SPE, Global Procurement, internal stakeholders, suppliers) to develop a strong execution plan in serving our customer on time.
  • Innovation & Digitalization:Utilize newest techniques in engineering to deliver high quality services to the end customer, including modernizing old techniques and developing new technologies.



Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:



  • College four year degree. Preferable but not required to have a BA/BS/ME in engineering or business.
  • Minimum 4years of applicable experience.
  • Strong Analytic experience & Good problem-solving ability and high attitude for ownership
  • Ability to maintain long term productive relationship with customers.
  • A team player collaborating with multiple regions & product lines to serve Westinghouse's customers.
  • Knowledge of European supplier base for the energy sector is a plus.
  • Microsoft Project & Primavera P6 expertise or similar systems a plus
  • Experience with large complex cross functional projects.
  • Global project management experience a plus
  • SAP & Ariba or similar system experience in a global environment is beneficial
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Technical Aptitude:Key understanding of personnel management, technical constraints and troubleshooting, and critical path schedule tracking for mechanical or electrical projects at a Westinghouse designed Nuclear Power Plant in a global environment.
