There are immediate openings for licensed clinical social workers at the CUIMC Faculty Practice Organization (FPO) office in Manhattan. Specialist in Co-Occurring Substance Use Disorders The Department of Psychiatry is seeking social workers assigned to work at the Smithers Center, CUIMC's outpatient center for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders. These are full-time, clinical positions in an outpatient setting in midtown Manhattan. Primary responsibilities include providing evidence-based interventions to patients with co-occurring substance use disorders in an outpatient setting, as well as in an intensive evening program. The faculty member will also conduct diagnostic/intake evaluations of adults, as well as group and individual therapy utilizing empirically supported treatments. Applicants should have knowledge of both cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques and should have previous experience in treating patients with substance use disorders. Applicants should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well across disciplines and function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Additional preference to applicants with family, intensive outpatient/day program, and/or DBT experience and those open to working evening hours. The CUIMC Psychiatry FPO sees a mix of private pay and managed care patients and has a particular focus on serving the CUIMC community, among others. We prioritize evidence-based interventions and have an array of specialized programs to best serve our patients. All positions currently allow for hybrid work, and for this position, in-person work will take place on the main medical center campus in Washington Heights. Our faculty serve as part of multi-disciplinary teams with ample opportunities to learn from and consult with colleagues. There are also professional development funds available to faculty to support licensure renewals, as well as obtaining additional training, conference attendance, professional organization membership, and potentially supervise/provide didactics to trainees.
