Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7) Department/Organization: 214221 - Chemical and Biological Eng Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee. Additional Department Summary: The Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at The University of Alabama is seeking a candidate for a Postdoctoral position. This position is available to individuals with research interests in sustainability topics including circularity/recycling of plastics, green chemistry, and CO2 capture processes. This position will report to Dr. Bara. Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Candidates will need to have completed their Ph.D. or have it completed by the start of employment. Please upload additional documents to the "other documents" tab as needed. Skills and Knowledge: Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated record of academic achievement in research. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with analytical techniques, including NMR, FT-IR, XRD, DSC, TGA, and mechanical testing. Experience with operating chemical reactors and separation processes. Experience with characterization of physical properties including but not limited to density, viscosity, and solubility measurements. Experience with data visualization and analysis software. Experience with chemical process simulation software.
