Job Summary

Reporting to the Director for Career Liaisons and Campus Locations, this position will provide innovative career coaching, programming, and managing the daily operations of CTD at the Biscayne Bay Campus Location. This position will aid FIU students in planning and developing their career goals through internship and employment opportunities. The position will be housed out of the Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC) however students to be served and programming may include those at Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC), The Engineering Center and/or within the Academic Liaisons or at Campus Locations.

  • Lead the Career Development and Integrated Partnerships function and programming at the Biscayne Bay Campus.
  • Assist the CTD centralized team in creating and promoting career preparation and readiness programming.
  • Responsible for the oversight and success of career initiatives, programming, presentations and for collaborative engagement efforts at BBC such as workshops, orientations, student organizations, and open house events.
  • Utilize current career development theory and resources to provide career advising/coaching to students and alumni in various areas from major selection, career planning, career changing, and other career readiness topics.
  • Supports students job search and preparation activities such as Networking Receptions, Internship and Career Fairs and other employer engagement programming.
  • Build and retain recruiting relationships with key/new employers through outreach efforts, to include employer visits, telephone calling and program development.
  • Participates in CTD team meetings and training related to Career Development and Integrated Partnerships.
  • Coordinates with MMC and other locations as needed for career development functions.
  • Manages and coordinates staffing for the daily operational functions of CTD at the Biscayne Bay Campus Location.
  • Supervises, trains, coaches assigned personnel including front desk staff, graduate assistant and student workers.
  • Assists the Director of Career Liaisons and Campus Engagement and the Associate Directors in identifying and implementing process and technology improvements.
  • Serves as stand-in for the Associate Directors as needed.
  • Supports data collection of Career initiatives inclusive of Job Search, Career Engagement and Readiness and the First Destination Survey.
  • Coordinates with MMC and other locations as needed for operational functions.
  • Provide support for the integration of career development, experiential learning, career employment opportunities for students with majors at the Biscayne Bay Campus, Engineering Center and within academic units and campus locations.
  • In collaboration with the respective CTD unit leadership, initiates, fosters, and maintains relationships with Faculty and Staff and to increase awareness of CTD services and increase student utilization.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience.
