The Regional Sales Representative - Industrial QC will sell Bruker Optics benchtop instruments and software solutions (MIR, NIR, Raman) and assist in executing local demand generation activities for the western region of the United States. This sales role is part of the Industrial QC sales team and has responsibility for industrial accounts in the FAS (food analytical solutions which includes food, feed, and agricultural segments), chemical, petrochem, and polymer markets



Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

    Meet or exceed assigned territory sales target by maintaining and growing sales in current accounts, and identifying/closing business in new accounts.
  • Accurately forecast prospects through the sales cycle. Interpret customer needs and identify Optics solutions. Build & articulate BOPT value proposition. Understand the customer's decision making process, and map key decision makers and buying influencers.
  • Responsible for the full sales process starting with generating leads, evaluating the applications of interest for clients, evaluating the right system configurations, preparing quotations using Bruker good business practices to finalize the sale with the clients through a purchase order
  • Provide demo's during the sales process, reporting the executed feasibility studies when applicable
  • Manage on-site trials when required to close sales
  • Responsible for customer trainings/coordination of trainings at installation or on demand
  • Coordinating shortest possible installation times after delivery together with the other parties involved (client and service team)
  • NOB coordination from PO received to scheduling system installation to secure fastest revenue recognition
  • Seeking new market opportunities and new applications
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) when discussing applications at conferences or for promotional events like webinars
  • Represent Bruker Optics at customer events like trade shows, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, & etc.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance sales skills through technical & sales training
  • Develop and maintain territory database
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge on Optics products, company literature & information, and competition
  • Maintain knowledge to discuss commercial contract terms


Qualifications

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD, in chemistry/biochemistry/food science or equivalent degree along with work experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex scientific concepts. Significant experience working with large, multi-national customers is required
  • In-depth knowledge of FT-IR, FT-NIR, and Raman spectroscopy principles, applications, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with implementing spectroscopic methods in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food and beverage, and petrochemicals.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to selling in a regulated market.
  • Proven track record of success in technical sales, with a minimum of 5 years of experience selling spectroscopy instruments or related analytical equipment.
  • Must have flexibility, ability to prioritize and manage differing time constraints: time management is essential. In depth industry knowledge.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $81,900 and $130,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
