Title: System Testing Analyst II
Location: Columbia, SC
Duration: 12 months, likely extensions - Partial Onsite - Remote Monday and Friday. Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Note: The team member can be requested to be onsite 100% as the business need dictates.
Work Environment: The position holds a critical role in the application development process; testing new or modified applications to make sure they will work in the client's operating environment. Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
Duties:
- Provide service for multiple clients.
- Make recommendations to clients on how to improve testing activities.
- Track quality assurance metrics.
- 45% Participate in the design phase of projects to ensure that new or modified functions are developed using correct testing methodology.
- Arrange major activities between the client and IS staff to ensure maximum gain from technical resources.
- 45% Complete supportive administrative and lead activities such as attending sessions with customers, planning and disbursing projects to team members, completing reports and developing processes.
- 10% Perform testing duties which may involve reviewing test data, creating test cases, executing testing, and monitoring/documenting results.
- Mentor and provide guidance to testing staff.
- A typical day for a tester involves a variety of tasks to ensure the quality and functionality of software products.
- The day usually starts with a team meeting to discuss the progress of ongoing projects and any issues that need to be addressed.
- After the meeting, the tester reviews the test cases and plans for the day, prioritizing tasks based on project deadlines and the severity of any reported bugs.
- Throughout the day, the tester executes test cases, documents the results, and reports any defects found.
- They collaborate closely with developers to understand the root cause of issues and verify fixes.
- Additionally, the tester may perform exploratory testing to identify potential problems that were not covered by the initial test cases.
- The day often ends with updating test documentation and preparing for the next day's tasks.

We are currently working on several exciting projects, including The National Alliance 2025 New Groups project involves annual enhancements and the onboarding of new client plans across the country to meet the evolving needs of this line of business. These projects involve enhancing our digital presence and improving customer engagement through innovative solutions. Our team consists of six skilled professionals, including three testers and three test designers, who bring diverse expertise to the table.
- Work Hours: Start time can be as early as 7:30 and as late as 9am with 8hrs to follow (excluding the lunch break).

Required Software and Tools:

- Knowledge of JAVA, Websphere, Windows, and other middleware platforms.
- Knowledge of DB2, Oracle, IMS, and VSAM.
- Skill in whitebox testing, integration testing, static testing, and 508 compliance testing utilizing JAWS software.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
Required Experience: 5 years of IT experience to include experience developing test plans and/or matrices.
