Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Customer Solutions Rep/Planner with a passion for delivering exceptional service and a talent for planning efficient shipments. In this fast-paced role, you'll be the critical link between our customers and operations, ensuring timely and accurate communication while handling inquiries and resolving concerns with a solution-driven mindset. Your understanding of supply chain and commitment to continuous improvement will help you analyze complex challenges and identify the most effective strategies to meet deadlines and exceed expectations. How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers including answering customer inquiries, addressing concerns, and offering optimal logistic solutions
  • Meet expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Coordinate requirements with sales, operations, and corporate personnel
  • Follow shipments from on-time shipping to on-time delivery at destination
  • Act in accordance with processes and documented procedures
  • Maintain Customer Master Data in SAP S/4HANA
  • Ensure critical matters are communicated to the appropriate parties and get resolved swiftly
  • Work with SAP and EDI functional teams and business contacts in gathering requirements, supporting integration, user acceptance testing, and hyper care support
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and adoption of new procedures
  • Act as an agent for change and continuous improvement
  • Research, analyze, and resolve complex customer issues by using appropriate tools and resources to assess situations and craft appropriate solutions, while retaining ownership of the issue
  • Evaluate current methods of shipment, investigate alternatives, and optimize logistics and cost control
  • Understand commercial objectives and develop individual work objectives to align with them
  • Participate in internal and external audits pertaining to ISO requirements, SOX, and IAFT

What you'll need to succeed:

  • BS/BA Degree or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 2 years of fast-paced customer service experience with strong knowledge of transportation and planning coordination
  • Experience working with or for automotive OEM or tier 1 manufacturers is preferred
  • Experience with SAP automotive sales document flow and automotive processes - scheduling agreements with release orders, JIT, and EDI is preferred
  • Experience in IDOC and Middleware is a plus
  • Professional, clear, and respectful communication, both verbal and written
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with colleagues, fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Well organized and able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently, with minimal guidance
  • Possess the ability to work well under pressure, while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for domestic, export, and import transportation
  • Good understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR), US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, INCO Terms 2020, Harmonized Tariffs, IMDG requirements is a plus
  • This position requires less than 10% travel.
  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
