The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced leader who excels in developing high-performing teams and driving them towards operational excellence. As the Glacial Lakes Area Manager, reporting to the Director of US Field Operations, you will bring a robust leadership background along with operational and commercial expertise. Your role will be crucial in maximizing the value of our assets while ensuring safe and compliant operations. You will oversee the development and execution of a detailed area budget and resource plan, managing all equipment maintenance and troubleshooting across the Glacial Lakes Area. This area currently includes 600 miles of 30" pipeline, 12 pump stations, and numerous remote mainline valve sites. Location: Brookings, SD (other locations within the Glacial Lakes area will be considered) What You Will Do * Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance coaching to drive: o above all, safe execute of work. o a strong culture of psychological safety, normalizing feedback o innovation, continuous improvement, and commitment to operational excellence o a strong sense of teamwork, inclusiveness, and high employee morale o employee development o ownership, commitment, and accountability o increased understanding and prudent mitigation of operational risks o a positive and visible image for South Bow in the communities that we operate * Develop and communicate team strategy, goals and objectives to enhance our ability to deliver on our operational priorities * Leverage operational knowledge and relationships to enhance the profitability of area assets and drive growth * Build and execute on an operational budget to identify all required resources to ensure the safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant operations of our assets * Support troubleshooting of equipment issues ensuring lessons learned are captured and actioned * Collaborate across operational and engineering teams to identify risks, and prioritize mitigation plans in alignment with our business goals * Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulatory requirements * Continue to expand team and individual preparedness for emergency response situations utilizing the incident command system (ICS) * Continuously develop your leadership competencies Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, diploma, or technical certificate in business, finance, engineering, or other technical discipline * 10 or more years of related experience. A combination of education and previous work experience may also support this requirement * Demonstrated leadership skillset with experience in employee development, performance management, change management, and team building * Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, navigating ambiguity, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team * Demonstrated ability to prioritize safe work execution; continuing to look for and execute on opportunities to improve * Alignment to and demonstration of South Bow Values of We are safe, We do the right thing, We take pride in what we do, and We win as a team Preferred Qualifications * 5 or more years of formal leadership experience. * Strong operational knowledge of liquids pipelines, terminals, and interconnects. * Expertise and experience in reliability, maintenance management, root cause analysis, procedure development, and/ or regulatory compliance. * Exposure to and experience supporting emergency response activities utilizing the Incident Command Structure (ICS). * Strong understanding of crude oil markets and transportation systems. * Commercial and/or Business Development experience in liquids systems. * Maintenance and/ or reliability education and experience
