Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and proposals.
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Manage work to meet contract schedules, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement and industry standard-of-care criteria;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • Conduct fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction; and
  • Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or environmental science (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or hydrogeology. (preferred)
  • Professional registration in California or ability to receive within one year. (i.e., P.G. ) (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years (7+ years preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Knowledge of California regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation and vapor intrusion. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Knowledge of California's geology. (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we, in good faith, believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set, and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $82,035/year / Maximum Salary: $130,295/year (Oakland, Walnut Creek)
