Job Summary Performs fabrication and assembly operations on Sheet Metal products with minimum supervision; set up, plan, layout, and operate fabrication equipment as required. Essential Duties
Assembles sheet metal ducts, fittings and hangers using hand tools, power tools and other power equipment such as a water jet, etc.. May form round sheet metal fittings, and must operate plasma tables. Joins ducts and fittings using screws, bolts, S and drives, flanges, solder, and weld joints. Seal to meeting duct testing requirements. Smooths seams, joints, or burred surfaces using files, portable grinders and electric duct hammers. Cuts, glues and pins insulation using pin spotter. Must operate coil lines, press brakes, press brakes, roll forming machines, spiral machines, and other layout machines.
Minimum Requirements High School or GED required. Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field preferred. Must be able to operate an overhead crane. 1-2 years of experience. Ability to perform Sheet Metal Standard Work Instructions (SWI) 09-0007, 09-0010, 09-0016, 09-0018, 09-0019, 09-0025 is required.
