The Job

The Manager of Pharmacy Quality & Clinical Services is a role that requires strong clinical acumen and collaboration with internal and external cross-functional teams (e.g., pharmacists, physicians, vendors), to promote positive member health outcomes and drive quality performance (e.g., CMS Star, HEDIS). The Manager of Pharmacy Quality & Clinical Services will support the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services on strategic planning and roadmap development for clinical programs to impact health outcomes and quality metrics; they will also lead a team to execute and operationalize clinical programs to demonstrate impact on health outcomes and quality metrics for all SCAN members.

You Will

Strong leadership skills, provides guidance, supervision, development and coaching to a team of clinical pharmacists.

Effective and dynamic communicator with proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to drive enterprise and department goals.

Creates, leads and executes clinical initiatives and programs to meet department goals; deliver impact on member health outcomes, drives consistent and strong quality performance (e.g., CMS Star, HEDIS), achieving company quality goals and operates innovative, industry-leading clinical pharmacy programs including, but not limited to: medication adherence, guideline directed medical therapy.

Supports the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services and department with preparations for speaking engagements, meetings, publications etc.; and represents SCAN at industry and regulatory conferences and other events.

Develops a process to monitor, manage, and efficiently report out KPIs to key stakeholders; and ensures detailed policies and procedures and standard operating procedures for clinical operations remain relevant and up to date.

Leads cross-functional team to continuously optimizes technology platform for medication reviews, refill assistance, medication reconciliation, deprescribing, etc. to improve the use of medications by seniors.

Manages and ensures accuracy of compliance-related reporting and auditing.

Strong understanding of study design methodologies to effectively lead the development of clinical programs and assess outcomes to determine success of programs.

Leverages clinical data, social determinants of health, analytics and technology to enhance pharmacy care.

Instills a culture of continuous process improvement, efficiencies, collaboration, operational excellence and compliance amongst team.

Your Qualifications

Graduate or Advanced Degree required.

Current and unrestricted Pharmacy license Required. CA Pharmacy license, preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare Part D required.

5+ years' progressively responsible managed care pharmacy experience.

3+ years' experience leading the development and implementation of clinical programs and initiatives.

3+ years' experience managing resources of a business unit, including financial budgets.

3+ years' experience developing and maintaining business planning strategies.

2-3 years of leadership experience

Residency in clinical pharmacy practice preferred.

PQA knowledge preferred.

Communication - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Time Management - Strong time management and project management skills required.

Proven background in successful management of innovation and implementation initiatives. Proven background in documenting business, technology, and data requirements.

Strong program management skills, using analytics, user research and other approaches to help make decisions and iterate on overall strategy. Excellent interpersonal, group motivation and supervisory skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple and competing tasks, working independently and in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff, within and external to the organization to achieve goals. Experience with coordinating diverse groups of individuals to achieve overall program success.

Ability to identify and incorporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals and tactics within strategic initiatives. Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
