Responsibilities

Corporate Finance is looking for an Oracle Database Application Analyst with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The Financial Systems database team provides the data warehouse for life insurance financial and valuation reporting in support of Actuarial department.

The Database Application Analyst position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our internal financial reporting database applications for life insurance. Database applications include implementation and enhancements for new and existing products, automation of reporting requirements, ensuring the successful monthly load of the data warehouse, creation of control processes, producing reports, including automated reports and ad hoc analyses. The database application analyst translates complex business and actuarial requirements into programming specifications and technology solutions collaborating with business, finance and technology teams.

Qualifications / Requirements:


  • 4-year college degree with a minimum of 2 years in a database application development or database administrator role preferred.
  • Proficiency in Oracle (11g/19c) including oracle sql, and oracle pl/sql, sql*plus, sql*loader-REQUIRED-Minimum 2 years.
  • LINUX OS (including shell scripting)-REQUIRED--Minimum 2 years.
  • TOAD-REQUIRED--Minimum 2 years.
  • Advanced Excel (e.g. VLookup/macros).
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (ESP/Stonebranch UAC) preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS-Access, Python preferred.
  • Business knowledge of Life Products.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with a sense of urgency and ability to change focus to complete critical systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with a problem-solution attitude.
  • Detail oriented, with a comprehensive approach to validating and proofing deliverables.
