May Institute, Inc is seeking an experienced financial professional for the role of Financial Controller located in Randolph MA. Reporting to the CFO and Treasurer, the Financial Controller will manage daily accounting activities, oversee financial reporting, and ensure compliance across the organization.

  • Financial Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. Prepare and analyze comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.


  • Audit: Coordinate annual audits and related filings.


  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations.


  • Cash Flow Planning: Preparation of cash flow forecasts. Develop accurate short-term and long-term cash flow projections.


  • AP and Expense Tracking: Supervise AP and an organization wide system for tracking and reporting expenses.



Your Skills and Talents: A Winning Combination!



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus
  • Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar finance role
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Great Plains) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, financial regulations, and tax compliance
  • Experience leading audit processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial data management
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information
