Position Description:

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Iowa invites applications for a tenured Associate Professor position beginning August 2025.The Department offers the BA, BS, and PhD degrees in Mathematics, and cooperates with the Applied Mathematical and Computational Sciences (AMCS) PhD program in the Graduate College.

We seek an exceptional scholar with a highly active and visible research program. The successful candidate will actively pursue external funding to support their research and will engage in teaching and mentoring of students at all undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, they are expected to contribute service to the department, university, and professional organizations.

Education Requirement:


  • Candidates must hold a PhD in Mathematics in hand by start date.


Required Qualifications:


  • Strong research program in Mathematical Biology, evidenced by publications, invited presentations, and awards
  • Experience mentoring research for both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Strong record of external funding relative to career level
