Information Systems Security Engineer (Mid)

In this role, you'll play a vital part in safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring the integrity of our client's systems. Key Responsibilities:

Champion Secure Development Practices:


  • Drive the implementation of secure coding practices, DevSecOps methodologies, and agile principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Deeply understand and apply application security, container security, and software assurance best practices.


Guard the Software Supply Chain:


  • Safeguard the integrity of the software supply chain by implementing robust security controls and adhering to secure software supply chain principles.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities within the software development pipeline.


Ensure Compliance and Risk Management:


  • Guide developers in achieving and maintaining compliance with the NAVSEA Afloat Software Authorization Playbook (ASAP) and other relevant security standards (e.g., DISA STIGs, SRGs).
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and characterize residual risk based on preset threat models.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and implement appropriate countermeasures.


Collaborate with the Team:


  • Work closely with software developers, security engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of security measures.
  • Function as a technical expert, providing guidance and support across the team and throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.




Qualifications:


  • Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • IAT level II Certification
    • 5+ years of relevant work experience
    • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
