THE POSITION

The Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking a professional for the position of Early Intervention Coordinator (County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1). DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you work in an administrative nature, which involves the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of Early Intervention Services (EIS) and is responsible for the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of community EI programs. Other duties involve interpreting rules, regulations, program policies, and objectives and administering or assisting in appropriate development and support of EIS to meet the needs of eligible infants, toddlers, young children, and their families. To fulfill these duties, you will possess comprehensive knowledge in the requirements set forth in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Pennsylvania Early Intervention Services System Act. You will also be knowledgeable and conversant in all Intellectual Disability bulletins that establish early intervention policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, screening, evaluation and eligibility, children at risk, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), and Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT), as well as all related rules & regulations. You will also be involved in provider contracts and determining allocations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You may be required to work outside of normal scheduled hours (Evenings & Weekends).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
