OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Sales and Business Development Manager (SBDM) - Aerospace and Defense. This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting existing customer relationships, driving bookings and revenue growth, capturing design wins, and promoting continued market expansion in North America for the A&D business unit. They will focus on areas including optical sensors and photodiodes, laser diodes, and value-added assemblies while cross-selling across product families.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and support existing customer relationships.
  • Drive bookings and revenue growth.
  • Capture design wins and promote market expansion.
  • Create, lead, and implement business capture plans in collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Possess robust bidding and proposal experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Strong grasp of funnel management for business growth.
  • Keep updated on relevant products and North American markets; observe competitor activities and market trends.
  • Consistently update CRM data, perform monthly reviews of prospects, and maintain the bookings forecast for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Act as the primary contact for regional issues, coordinating input from relevant stakeholders.
  • Support essential business operations, such as the yearly 5-year strategic planning cycle, weekly forecast updates, and the A&D sales and operations planning process.
  • Evaluate, manage, and refine channel partner relationships, and collaborate with key account managers on opportunity captures.

  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, engineering, management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven and demonstrable experience in business growth within the Aerospace and Defense industry while collaborating with prime contractors.
  • An engineering or technical background, preferably in optoelectronics and photonics technology and manufacturing, with the ability to effectively communicate the technical value propositions we offer.
  • Travel within the US up to 50%.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Manage customer expectations and communicate with the factory effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proactive, and a team player.
