Job Overview

As part of Komatsu's North American Customer Solutions team under the Digital Office business unit, the Digital Product Trainer will have responsibilities to drive Intelligent Machine Control and Smart Construction Training to gain customer adoption and enhance learners knowledge. This position will be focused on creating training materials, presenting them to distribution and customers to drive market success of Komatsu's strategic My Komatsu, Smart Construction, and complementing digital initiatives.

This is a Cartersville, Georgia based position requiring travel 40-50% of the time for collaboration with end use customers, distribution, and other Komatsu teams. The position reports to the Manager - Digital Product Trainer.

The Digital Product Trainer will have responsibilities across Komatsu's North America region. Measurable targets for success include:



  • Training: Develop, train and present on intelligent machine control and all digital office offering to ensure the success of Komatsu dealer as they support customers in the field.
  • Support: assist greater business unit in all your activities to secure 20% of incremental customer adoption for solutions/hardware.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and present engaging training programs and materials for internal staff and external distributors to effectively use our technology solutions.
  • Deliver informative training sessions through various formats such as in-person workshops, webinars, and online training platforms.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to stay up-to-date on the latest features and functionalities of our products.
  • Customize training content to cater to the specific needs and requirements of different market segments.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to dealers during and after the implementation of our solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience troubleshooting independently. Demonstrated capability in using troubleshooting trees and decision making. Ability to complete projects within specified deadlines.
  • 1-3 years' experience in supporting GNSS technologies and digital solutions.
  • BS or BA in Land Surveying or Engineering related field is highly preferred or an extensive equivalent knowledge of construction applications, equipment and technology (including Topcon, Trimble, Leica 3D Machine Control Technology).
  • Previous 3D GPS machine control or digital solution experience at an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction and/or mining methods, key success factors, techniques and trends in the industry.
  • Proven analytical skills applied to business problems in either corporate or consulting setting.
  • Flexibility and maturity to interact effectively with executives, associates at all levels, distributors, customers, and suppliers and across cultures.
  • Excellent computer skills (specifically proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint) and facility with programs for analysis, modeling, and business presentation.
  • Knowledge of and experience in a manufacturing company in similar industries to those served by Komatsu (Heavy equipment, automotive, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within North America.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic. Must be highly organized with effective time management skills.
