Job Summary

Provides a variety of both individual and group based mental health services to families seeking services at the Center for Children and Families and consultation to the professionals who may be working with those families. Performs other functions that are relevant to the clinical and administrative operations of the center.

  • Provides direct psychological services (e.g., individual counseling, group counseling) to children, adolescents, and their families participating in clinical and clinical research programs. Conducts clinical assessments and interprets data to formulate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Provides consultation to and coordinates care with teachers, other health care providers, and other professionals as appropriate.
  • Adheres to evidence-based protocols for treatment and assessment and follows all relevant research study protocols.
  • Maintains a flexible work schedule based on programmatic needs and to accommodate scheduling needs of participating families.
  • Assists in coordinating recruitment for clinical programs and clinical research.
  • Maintains and manages clinical and clinical research caseload as assigned, including the following responsibilities among others: coordinating with families to schedule appointments, collecting relevant assessments from participating families, and completing all required documentation in an organized and timely manner. classes and other groups as needed in response to client needs of the CCF.
  • Completes intake summaries, psychological assessments, emergency evaluations, progress notes, and termination summaries according to established policies and procedures.
  • Meets with clinical and research teams as needed to coordinate services and identify treatment options for participant children/adolescents, and their families.
  • Participates in outreach to parents, educators, other mental health care providers, and the community at large to share information about mental healthcare and programs available through the Center for Children and Families.
  • Assists with supervision of practicum students and other clinical trainees.
  • Travels to schools and other agencies to coordinate services for participating families and to coordinate community outreach.
  • Participates in departmental research.
  • Develops and presents educational programs, seminars, and workshops to educators, mental health care providers, parents, and the community at large.
  • Interprets client care and treatment administrative rules and policies and recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage client care and treatment administration.
  • May supervise lower-level staff.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related mental health provider discipline and two (2) years of appropriate experience.
  • Mental Health License - Florida includes: Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist OR Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Desired Qualifications

  • Experience and familiarity with providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and families from diverse populations.
  • Bilingual (Spanish).
