Job Description Summary |
The Nazareth University Public Health Department is seeking a faculty candidate to teach at the undergraduate and master's levels. Nazareth University offers both a BA and BS degree and a generalist
MPH degree. Candidates should possess relevant content knowledge and practice experience and the interest to assume leadership for future initiatives.
As a Department in the College of Interprofessional Health and Human Services, faculty and students collaborate with faculty and students from Communication & Speech Disorders, Creative Arts Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Social Work. Nazareth University prepares nurses to meet the challenges of healthcare in the twenty-first century.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach didactic courses in the baccalaureate and master's public health programs
- Participate in Department faculty meetings, faculty development opportunities, and faculty committees
- Assist in development of course materials and assessment practices; assist in student clinical assessments; evaluation/grading of assignments, exams, and experiential learning activities
- Serve as an advisor, advocate and resource for students, including academic counseling
- Support efforts to recruit and retain students by participation in university events
- Collaborate with the program chair and faculty in planning, implementing, and evaluating program-related initiatives, including those related to curricular, co-curricular, admission, student advising, program progression, and enrollment initiatives
- Participate in interdisciplinary initiatives within the College of Interprofessional Health and Human Services
- Develop relationships with community-based organizations and public health agencies.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to excellence in teaching and fostering an environment of inclusion and collegiality
