The Head of Sales Additives Americas is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the commercial success and growth of the Additives business in the Americas region. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic and diverse sales team, manage strategic customer relationships, and shape the direction of business development efforts across North and Latin America. You will play a key part in transforming the business through innovation, growth strategies, and cost-out initiatives, while ensuring high performance and operational excellence.

As the Head of Sales, you will shape the future of the Americas market by driving sales targets, optimizing margins, and spearheading transformational projects. Responsibilities

Sales and Margin Management:



  • Lead efforts to enhance customer relationships and improve position in existing business.
  • Drive business development by prospecting for new customers and expanding the customer base.
  • Oversee and manage distributor performance, including target setting, regular reviews, and control to drive sales performance.


Sales Team Leadership:



  • Manage, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of 13 Sales Account Managers across the Americas.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture that aligns with Clariant's values and goals.
  • Identify talent within the team and provide tailored development plans to nurture growth.
  • Address performance challenges and implement strategies to improve team engagement, achieving key engagement KPIs.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work environment.


Forecasting and Planning:



  • Lead the organization in developing accurate sales forecasts and budgeting plans, aligned with company targets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain team to review customer requirements and manage inventory expectations.
  • Ensure forecast accuracy and take proactive measures to improve forecasting KPIs.


Americas Projects and Strategic Initiatives:



  • Identify and propose improvement initiatives to the Business Unit leadership teams, focusing on cost-out strategies and growth opportunities.
  • Lead or contribute as a key member to cross-functional projects in both North America and Latin America, ensuring timely project execution and alignment with company objectives.



Requirements



  • Degree in Chemistry, Engineering Technology, or an MBA with significant commercial experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years in a commercial leadership role, with expertise in finance, strategy, and marketing.
  • Demonstrated commercial competencies and experience in managing large teams.
  • Robust knowledge of the additives industry and understanding of regional market dynamics in the Americas.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.
