In the role of Senior Ports & Maritime Project Manager we'll count on you to:

  • Responsible for the simultaneous management of multiple small to large projects (construction values typically from $5M to $100M) Primary duties will include:

    • Maintaining schedules
    • Estimating and providing input regarding project resource needs
    • Staff workload projections
    • Maintaining budgets
    • Overseeing the quality control of deliverables


  • Apply a thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to this specialized field, through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions
  • Individual will work on projects ranging from limited complexity and scope to those including complex features
  • Knowledge of the USACE regulatory permitting processes and strategies to successfully permit projects
  • Timely execution of proposal generation and fee estimates using internally established tools and software, implementation of company objectives and periodic participation and input for strategic planning and betterment of the ports and maritime program
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • PMP certification
  • Minimum of 15 years or more designing and/or project management experience with heavy industrial and ports and maritime related projects along with construction observation/administration experience
  • Experience with a variety of project delivery methods should include traditional delivery methods (design-bid-build) and alternative delivery (design-build, CM at Risk, CM for Fee, etc.)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
