Golf Course Superintendent

Job Summary:

The Golf Course and Grounds Superintendent is responsible for equipment maintenance and scheduling and performing landscape activities: including lawn mowing, fertilizing, and all other work-related activities on the golf course as well as company grounds.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:

• Perform and manage golf course maintenance and all associated equipment.
• Supervise and train landscaping and grounds employees.
• Perform and manage all maintenance for company cars and trucks.
• Manage irrigation repair and maintenance.
• Perform snow removal and manage contract agencies.
• Assist with office support, including picking up mail and assisting with company events.
• Assist with building maintenance.
• Work with contracting agencies to support facilities maintenance.
• Assist with the budgeting process.

Occasional Job Responsibilities:

• Drives forklift in warehouse as necessary.
• Drives scissor lift as necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma plus additional instruction in agronomy preferred.
• Prefers 3-5 years of related golf course maintenance experience.
• Requires effective written and oral communication skills to work with and guide the work of others.
• Requires strong mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Must be able to collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop solutions.
• Certification in pesticide/herbicide application preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:

Protective Clothing Required:

• The incumbent will be required to wear safety goggles and steel toe shoes while working in plant manufacturing facilities and operating lawn equipment. Hearing protection may be required as needed.
