LOCATION: Charleston, SC
SUMMARY: This position will be supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in support of United States Marine Corps (USMC) and similar DoD communication systems to provide training support.

The QC Specialist III will provide technical expertise and support in one or more of the following areas:
- Training and/or Testing and evaluation (T&E) support to USMC COMMS, participating in WIPTs, working groups, CCBs, and engineering review groups
- Cybersecurity support to USMC COMMS, implementing and maintaining cybersecurity practices acquisition life cycle (initial design, development, testing, fielding and operation)
- Configuration management (CM) support to the USMC COMMS program (hardware and software), supporting all activities related to CM planning, baseline management, configuration identification, configuration control, configuration audits, formal reviews, engineering changes, and configuration management records and reports
- Quality management (inclusive implementation of a QA/QC program), executing establish PPQA processes to ensure requirements are met prior to submission of documentation, supplies, products, and services to USMC COMMS leadership

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate.
- 5 years professional experience solving technical problems.
- Trained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance.
- Possess a practical understanding of engineering concepts.
- Ensures that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards.
- Experience includes testing equipment to make sure that the process operates effectively and safely.
- Individual shall be able to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens.
- Should have experience in computer aided drafting (CAD), ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction, and be familiar with material specifications and fabrication methods.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CLEARANCE:
- Must have a favorable background investigation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance
- Active DoD Secret security clearance desired
