GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CDL Driver to join our team to support equipment testing on our unmanned vehicles including Class A trucks. This role involves driving and operating vehicles for testing purposes, ensuring equipment functionality, performance, compliance, and safety. The position offers many local routes, highways, and interstates allowing you to be home while contributing to the development and maintenance of top-tier commercial vehicles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Equipment Testing: Operate and test all autonomous ground vehicles including Class A and B trucks to evaluate performance, handling, and equipment functionality under various conditions.
  • Test Documentation: Record and report findings related to vehicle performance, potential issues, and testing outcomes.
  • Safety Standards: Conduct all tests in adherence to safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Pre- and Post-Inspections: Perform detailed inspections of vehicles and equipment before and after testing, documenting any concerns or abnormalities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to provide feedback and support troubleshooting efforts.
  • Route Familiarity: Navigate pre-determined local routes for testing purposes, simulating real-world driving conditions.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Identify and report maintenance needs during testing to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
  • Travel: As required ito support existing and new customers.
  • Location: This is an onsite position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • CDL License: Valid Commercial Driveris License (Class A) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Can be new to Class A and B driving. Experience in driving and vehicle testing or diagnostics is a plus.
  • Technical Acumen: Basic understanding of truck mechanics and performance metrics.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong observational and reporting skills to identify performance issues.
  • Physical Ability: Capacity to handle physical tasks, including climbing in and out of trucks and conducting inspections.
  • Safety-Focused: Commitment to maintaining safety and compliance in all testing activities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • On the road driving and working in various enviornmental elements
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift iup to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel, foreign and domestic
  • Ability to work on large, unmanned ground vehicles
