The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well-Being is currently accepting applications for a Student Services Coordinator I for the Downtown Student Services Department. This role provides enrollment and student services to prospective and current UCF students. This professional position provides holistic student services support in the areas of admissions, financial aid, and registrar. In collaboration with student services partners, the Student Programs Coordinator must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the student experience including enrollment, student services, retention, graduation, and overall success. This position will also collaborate with Valencia College to support the educational pathway for Valencia students transferring to UCF.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide accurate and timely information and support to students from initial enrollment through orientation, including but not limited to: recruitment, admissions and enrollment processes, residency, orientation, new student requirements, funding resources and financial aid, registration, enrollment, and payment processes.

  • Provide prospective and current student appointments.

  • Utilize multiple methods of communication (e.g., phone, email, in-person and virtual meetings) to provide comprehensive support to students in the areas of admissions, financial aid, and registrar office.

  • Identify and successfully resolve student concerns through prompt problem resolution, designed to improve student retention and other strategies to meet benchmarks and goals.

  • Navigate multiple online systems for the university including but not limited to Slate, myUCF (PeopleSoft), myKnightStar, Who's Next, and Workday.

  • Coordinate and conduct prospective student information sessions and tours.

  • Train student staff on campus tour facilitation.

  • Assess and update information sessions and tours based on feedback from students and stakeholders.

  • Support external tour requests for downtown campus as needed.

  • Support the UCF Downtown Assistant Director and Director of Enrollment Services in managing the downtown student experience in collaboration with academic colleges, SSWB departments, and Valencia College to support overall student success.

  • Responsible for knowledge of information related to University, College, and Program policies and procedures, as well as information related to community resources to provide students with information and guidance, assisting students in making informed decisions.

  • Develop, promote, and implement prospective and current student events. This includes integrated events with Valencia College as well as UCF specific student events.

  • Represent the downtown student services team in university-wide events including resource fairs, open houses, etc.)

  • Identify, implement, and manage strategies and special projects related to downtown and SSWB goals and metrics in order to promote students' enrollment, retention, success, and completion.

  • Support first year programs events as needed.

  • Support orientation day of facilitation and presenting.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in higher education enrollment services setting and/or secondary education.

  • Ability to problem solve and seek resolutions to a variety of student issues.

  • Experience with event coordination and implementation.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills including experience presenting.
