As a QC Chemistry Investigator, you will be responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/review in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. You will interpret and evaluate the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications, identify on-going quality issues, prevent potential production issues, and make suggestions for improvement. You will perform deviation investigations using root cause analysis tools and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. You will be trusted to independently lead investigations and troubleshoot chemistry processes. The role will be located at the Fort Worth (ASPEX), TX, US Facility

In this role, typical activities will include:

  • Drive deviation investigations to true root cause using root cause analysis tools
  • Identify and implement effective CAPAs to prevent recurrence
  • Complete investigation summaries
  • Analyze and/or review technical data for finished products, raw materials, in-process materials, release test samples or stability samples in compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other functional departments to meet site key objectives (On-Time Release, Key Projects, etc.)
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities looking to pursue laboratory best practice and offer appropriate feedback when nonvalue added activities are observed
  • Effectively multi-task and drive investigation closures to target timelines
  • Assist with microbiology investigations as needed
  • Perform process equipment alarm deviations and mitigations

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a Related Field, or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 years' experience or equivalent education
