Purpose of Position
The Associate Director of Customer Service and Training in NKU's financial aid office is responsible for providing managerial leadership to the Office of Student Financial Assistance customer service team. Key responsibilities include overseeing campus wide student employment, ensuring accurate information is disseminated to students, parents, and the campus community and that all outreach initiatives are adequately covered by financial aid team members. Additionally, this position will oversee staffing levels to ensure that the financial assistance service team is adequately staffed to meet service demands.
The Associate Director will lead office training, which includes onboarding new employees and conducting ongoing training, creating, updating, and maintaining training modules, maintaining all office publications (print and electronic) and updating correspondence, including verification worksheets, award letters, scholarship award offers, and other publications. The Associate Director will also be responsible for maintaining the office website and monitoring services of in-person, via email, phone, and walk-in traffic to support exceptional service.
Other responsibilities include developing talking points for call campaigns and financial aid inquiries and collaborating with the Associate Director of Compliance and Processing to identify training needs. Overall, the Associate Director of Customer Service and Training plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Office of Student Financial Assistance delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee campus-wide student employment program, in collaboration with HR, to ensuring the program (FWS) adheres to USED compliance


  • Develop, update and maintain policies, procedures and training modules
  • Lead the Financial Aid Customer Service Team and ensure exceptional service is provided to students, parents, and campus community.
  • Align training to current and new rules, regulations, and policies related to student employment and financial aid.
  • Lead financial literacy programs and outreach efforts to increase financial education and awareness.
  • Oversee merit and donor scholarships
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years related experience.


  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to financial aid and student employment programs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate information to a variety of audiences, including students, parents, and campus stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and managing outreach programs, including presentations and other communication materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to meet service demands and financial aid goals and targets.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the financial aid team and other campus stakeholders.
  • Technical skills in MS Office and financial aid software.
